The Third World Day for Organ Donation and Transplantation

The Third World Day for Organ Donation and Transplantation was hosted in Kuwait.
Kuwait has been the first country in the Arab Gulf to start transplantation in 1979, and enjoys the highest rate of transplantation from deceased and living donors in the Middle East. Kuwait has been one of the first countries to raise concerns on transplantation tourism both for the donors and for the recipients, in particular on the transmission of blood-borne infections such as Hepatitis C and the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
